Understanding Essential IT Concepts
In this introductory module we'll look at the bigger picture of computers and their immersion in our daily life and most importantly in our businesses. We'll do a quick tour of modern digital world in which we live and work to improve our digital literacy. We will learn to distinguish between different types of computers. We'll see what are different components of a computer system. What are different types of memory available in computers? What are main input and output devices? What is data communication, networking and cyber security? What is system and application software?Getting to Know MS Office
Microsoft Office is an office productivity suite used by billions all across the globe in virtually every office. In this module we'll begin our journey of becoming a Office Expert by diving into MS Office. We'll see what our different kind of applications available in MS Office and their usage. We'll learn how to start and quit different applications available in this exciting software suite. We'll get ourselves familiarized with new Ribbon interface common acrss all the applications in MS Office. We'll also have a look on File Menu. Creating a New Document
· Word is world's most used word processor. It is used to write, letters, memos, books, proposals, bids, and many other kind of documents. In this module we will learn how to create a word document. Then we'll add some text, by typing or copying from other resources (other word or text files, web, email etc.). We'll learn to perform basic text manipulation selecting, formatting copying, cutting, and pasting etc. We will also practice applying text formatting. We'll learn to use styles and themes. We'll learn how to proofread our word documents by spelling and grammar check. We'll also learn to email a word document safely. We'll also learn how to export word documents in different formats for sharing. We'll sum up this module by learning how to print a word document.Word: Paragraph Formatting
· We'll learn how to manipulate a major and logically relevant portion of text in our word documents i.e. paragraphs. We'll see how to change horizontal alignment, indentation and vertical spacing. We'll learn to apply borders and backgrounds to paragraph. We will also learn how to create different types of numbered and bulleted lists. We also learn to efficiently use styles. We'll practice creating new styles and modifying existing ones.Word: Formatting Pages, Sections and Documents
· In this module we'll learn how change different page settings such as margins, page size, orientation etc. Then we'll move on to creating headers and footers. We will then learn how to create different kinds of breaks such as page break and section break etc. We also explore how to create multi-columns documents and add line numbering. Then we'll sum up this module with learning how to apply borders and backgrounds to page.Word: Working with Tables and Figures
· In this module we'll learn how to create and design tables to present tabular data. We'll learn to customize tables by changing row and column sizes. We'll learn how to apply borders and shading to rows and columns. We'll also learn to insert or delete rows and columns at different locations of table. Then in second portion of this module we'll learn how to add images to our word document, how to wrap text around image, moving, resizing, captioning and auto numbering pictures.Word: References and Mail Merge
· In this last and important module we'll learn how to create Table of Contents, how to insert footnotes and end-notes, how to cite a source and create bibliography and how to create an index. Then we'll learn to automatically create customized letters, memos, emails or other documents using a data source. At last, we will learn to export word documents in different formats for sharing and collaborating with others.Excel: Getting started with Microsoft Excel
· MS Excel the worlds leading and cutting edge spreadsheet software used by billions around the globe. In this module we'll get ourselves familiarized with excel ribbon interface. Then we'll study core excel concepts such as workbooks, worksheets, cells, rows and columns etc. We'll learn to move between cells. Then we will learn to select range and cells. Then we'll explore some data entry techniques and get some experience of AutoFill and FlashFill. We'll look at how to copy or move data between cells. We'll also see how to insert or delete column, rows or cells. Then we'll sum up this module by learning how to manage multiple worksheets.Excel: Formulas and Functions
· We'll start by writing basic formulas to get some first hand experience of excel formula craft. We'll learn how to insert, copy or move excel formula. Then we'll look at how to show current date or time with a function. We'll learn how to make decision using If statement. We'll also look at how to name ranges or cells.Excel: Formatting and Printing Worksheets
· We'll begin by applying and customizing themes. Then we'll learn to change background of worksheet. We'll also study how to change size, borders and shading and styles of individual cells, rows or columns. We'll also learn to apply conditional formatting and setting up headers and footers. Then we'll finish by learning how to print excel sheet and how to export it in different formats for sharing and collaborating with others.Excel: Creating and Customizing Charts
· In this last excel module we'll learn how to create charts of different kinds from different data-sets. Excel has several kind of built-in charts and its user interface makes it quite easy to create professional looking charts in no time. We'll start by creating a basic chart, changing its size and position, apply different styles and colors to make it look attractive and more usable. We'll learn how to switch columns and rows of chart data. We'll learn to add, remove or format chart elements such as title, and labels.PowerPoint: Getting Started
· We'll get some introduction of PowerPoint, why, when, where and how it is used. Then we'll have a look at its ribbon interface and familiarize ourselves with all menu items. We'll have a look at already built presentation and try to understand its different elements. We'll learn what are different kinds of PowerPoint views. Then we'll create a presentation from an existing template. We'll learn to add/remove slides, using content placeholders, manually placing text on slide, inserting, deleting, moving and resizing slide objects,PowerPoint: Formatting a Presentation

· In this module we'll learn how to bring our presentation to life by adding animation and sound. We'll learn to add slide transition effects, setting slides to advance manually or automatically. We'll also explore animating objects, adding videos or inserting sound clip and associating it with an event.PowerPoint: Presenting a Slide Show
· Creating a superb looking slide show is only half work, other half is presenting it accurately to audience. In this last module we'll master this skill by learning how to display slide show on screen, annotating slides with pen tool, using presenter view, printing handouts and exporting handouts to word.Outlook: Managing Email
· We'll start this module by exploring Outlook interface. Then we move forward to setting up an account, receiving, reading, composing a message with attachment and sending it. We'll also learn how to create folders for managing email, create message handling rule and configure junk email filter.Outlook: Using Contacts and Tasks
· We'll learn to manage our contacts using outlook. We will practice how to add, remove, edit or find contacts. We'll also see how to send email to a contact. We'll also learn how to share contact data using email. At the end we'll learn to create and manage tasks.
